The Gloucester Rotary Club is pleased to announce an exciting Casino Night Fundraiser on Friday, May 29, 2026, from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM at Cruiseport Gloucester, located at 6 Rowe Square on Gloucester’s harborfront.

This lively evening will bring the thrill of a casino floor to Gloucester, featuring classic favorites including Blackjack, Roulette, Craps, and Texas Hold ’Em Poker. Guests will enjoy an energetic atmosphere filled with friendly competition, entertainment, and community spirit—all while supporting the important work of the Gloucester Rotary Club.

Proceeds from Casino Night will help fund the club’s charitable initiatives, community service projects, and programs that make a meaningful impact both locally and beyond. Through events like this, the Gloucester Rotary continues its mission of “Service Above Self,” supporting causes that strengthen the Gloucester community.

Community members, local businesses, and visitors alike are invited to join in what promises to be a memorable evening of fun, philanthropy, and fellowship. Whether trying your luck at the tables or simply enjoying the atmosphere, every guest will be helping support important community work.

Tickets to the Casino Night are $75 each and include light snacks, a cash bar and $2000 in gaming funds. District Learning Assembly on June 3

The District Learning Assembly has been rescheduled to June 3, 2026 at Four Points Sheraton from 5-9 pm.
 
The first key reason for attending the District Learning Assembly is the District grants qualification seminar, which trains Clubs on applying for in utilizing District managed grants in their communities and global grants throughout the world. Attendance by two Club members at the seminar automatically qualifies your Club.
 
Another reason to attend is to approve the District budget for the coming year and confirm the 2024-2025 budget as required by Rotary International regulations.
 
It provides motivation, networking opportunities and specialized training to strengthen Club administration, service projects, membership and annual grant qualification.

Have You Joined the PolioPlus Society Yet?

We are in a Challenge to increase our PolioPlus Society (PPS) membership.  More than a dozen districts have joined together during the 2025-26 Rotary year in the PPS Challenge with the goal of ultimately eradicating Polio, once and for all!
 
PolioPlus Society consists of Rotarians who pledge a minimum of $100 per year to the PolioPlus Fund until polio is eradicated from the face of the earth.  To learn more about the PolioPlus Society and find out how easy it is to join, please click here.
 
The district with the greatest percentage increase of PPS members by June 2026 will win a fancy banner and bragging rights! Better yet we will all know we did our part in saving the lives of children all over the world!  You can help by setting up your annual or monthly recurring Polio donation today.
 
Each club is asked to plan an activity to raise funds for Polio sometime by March.

Citation For Meritorious Service Award

The Rotary Foundation Citation for Meritorious Service recognizes individual Rotarians and Rotaractors who have demonstrated outstanding service to the Foundation such as through their involvement in Foundation committees, grants or programs. The Foundation's programs are how members transform donations into sustainable projects that change people's lives.
 

Each year, districts can nominate one member to honor their commitment, enthusiasm and passion for these ideals. This year our nominee was selected by the review committee. It is with great pleasure that District 7930, on behalf of the Rotary Foundation Trustees, has awarded Joan Kelly Arsenault with the Citation for Meritorious Service. Joan's enthusiastic service to the Foundation will ensure the continued success of its vital Rotary programs.
 

Congratulations, Joan, for receiving this prestigious honor and thank you for all that you do for the Foundation.
Sharpen Your Pencils

As the Rotary Year winds down, it's time to shift your focus to the next cycle of District Managed Grants. The window is fast approaching to submit your grant proposal. The application timeline has been tightened and funds are limited for the 2026-2027 Rotary year.


Applications Open: July 1, 2026
Applications Close: August 31, 2026
Approval Basis: First Come, First Served (until funds are exhausted)


You'll want to have your proposals ready the moment the clock strikes midnight (BUT NOT A MOMENT BEFORE) on July first.
Our funding parameters have also changed for the upcoming year for either a local or international grant:


Maximum Reimbursement: $2000 
Minimum Reimbursement: $1000


Three important points to remember:
(1) Grants are paid on a reimbursement basis once the project is completed and the final report is received and approved. Ensure your club's budget can cover the initial upfront costs.
(2) Receipts must not be dated before you have been notified of BOTH District 7930 and Rotary International approval.
(3) Your club must be officially Grant Qualified by two members having taken the Grant Qualification Seminar. Please mark your calendars to attend the District Assembly on June 3 to take the qualification course. If you miss the assembly, the course and a short quiz will be available on our district website.
