Thursday, November 14th will be our upcoming ROBERT C. WOOD MEMORIAL HEROES foundation dinner event, named in honor and memory of our friend, the late Past District Governor Bob Wood (2018-19). This event will be starting at 5:30 PM at the Danversport and we hope that many of you will be attending. The evening will include a social hour, silent auction, dinner, and Paul Harris Fellow (PHF) presentations.

 

Clubs are invited to participate in the Robert C. Wood Memorial Heroes event by contributing an item to the silent auction, and - most importantly - your club can select a hero from your community to be recognized with a Paul Harris Fellow recognition at the event!

Your Rotary Club can retain and engage your current members, recruit new members, and be known as the premier service club in your community! We can only achieve this if we discover the components, value, and importance of an effective Succession Plan.
Our Summit on November 2 is the beginning of an attitude mind shift and procedural adjustment that will allow your club to transform the results of its efforts from average to extraordinary.

Our featured presenter and facilitator will be Bill Gormont. Bill is a Rotarian from Greece, New York who has presented leadership development and succession planning programs across the world for Rotary.
 

In commemoration of World Polio Day, October 24th, Marblehead Rotarians organized fun and exciting activities for the whole month of October, emphasizing the importance of vaccination and global efforts to eradicate Polio. An essential part is to raise funds to continue the work that Rotarians have been dedicated to since 1985.

 

For the "Purple Pinky" campaign, we had Millie, our favorite middle schooler, doing the manicure! Themed purple accessories, be it purple wigs, boas, turtlenecks, shades, or tattoos, are our fashion statement. And our pièce de résistance, Purple Polio Pig Pie. Yes, it is a chance to pitch a cream pie to your favorite Rotarian's face.  A pie fight for a cause. Every Marblehead Rotarian can petition to pitch a pie to anyone they fancy. Every pitch costs $20 and will be matched 2:1 by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.

 

Lastly, to bring this event to a full circle of why we are doing this in the first place, we had a Polio survivor, Philip Wilson, of the Danvers Rotary Club, speak of the devastating impact of Polio and why ending it is a service to humanity.
