We are fortunate to have as our special guest polio survivor John Nanni. Six months just before the Salk Vaccine distribution, John was paralyzed from his neck down. He now uses a wheelchair for most of his daily mobility due to severe Post-Polio Syndrome issues. John will enlighten us on Polio and Peace. He is a proud member of the Rotary Club of Middletown-Odessa-Townsend, Delaware, USA.

Hi, My name is Becca Harris and I am a member of the Arlington Rotary Club and serving as the District Treasurer. In my "real job" I am the Executive Director of 2nd Act which is a nonprofit that is a collective of artists and drama therapists in recovery which uses theatre, film, and drama therapy to address and educate about the impact of substance use. Our programs, including workshops, plays, drama therapy and professional trainings, are impacting the district in many ways and I would love to come to your club meeting to share more about the work we do.

The Wakefield Rotary Club visited Northeast Metro Tech (Voke) this week. The club re-located its meeting to the James Wallace Breakheart Inn at the school, a fully functioning training bakery, café and restaurant located within the Voke for the first out of four Rotary lunch meetings that will be hosted at the school in 2025.

Wakefield Rotary Club President Wendy Maguire noted, “We absolutely loved our visit. It’s important to us to get to know the resources that are available to our community and to give back. Re-locating our lunch meetings there a few times a year is long overdue, and we’re excited to build a strong relationship with the Voke.” Members of the club commented specifically on the three-course menu selection, student effort and quality of the food. One member said, “I’d bring my friends here every week if I could.”
