Join Fellow Rotarians on May 21 on the Ipswich River for a Day of Service.  Two Volunteer service opportunities are available:

 

1. 9am to 12pm Spring 2022 Rotary Club Ipswich River Landings Work Day:  approximate teams of 4 people per site.  The goal of this project will be to support our River Warden program by helping to prepare canoe/kayak landings on the Ipswich River for the paddling season via picking up trash, pruning and cutting back vegetation, and checking the condition of kiosks and signage at the following landings:

 

Returning from a two-year hiatus the Manchester-Essex Club is thrilled to host the 7th Annual Kentucky Derby Party and Auction on Saturday, May 7 from 5 to 8:30!  This event brings items from all corners from golf outings and beach barbecues to fine clothing and complete wine cellars.  There is a silent auction for smaller items.  The live auction features State Senator Bruce Tarr as auctioneer for the big-ticket items, including an 80-inch smart television!   

 

We will watch the Derby race live.  There will be a non-betting lottery on the outcome, a hat contest for best women's and men's hats for prizes of a bottle of real Kentucky bourbon and a bouquet of roses.  An excellent buffet dinner will be served throughout the evening, cash bar (yes, mint julep).  Best of all we are raising money for local scholarships, food banks and international projects.

 

So, put on your Derby hats and be ready to have a fun time with fun people.  Tickets can be purchased online in advance for $30 or at the door for $35.

The weekly eBulletin depends on the content provided by clubs, so please submit your stories and we will publish them on the district website and in the next eBulletin. Stories that showcase your club or event should be submitted via the website portal at this link.

 

The deadline for submitting items for the weekly District 7930 eBulletin is Friday morning in order to be included in the following Monday's edition.  If the eBulletin being prepared is getting to be too long and the story submitted is not time-sensitive, we may choose to delay including it until the following week.
