Meet Evan Burrell

On Saturday, April 22, 2023, Rotary Districts 7890, 7910, and 7930 will come together at the Burlington Marriott for a 3 District Conference with Keynote Speaker Evan Burrell who's come all the way from Australia to talk to us. 

The conference beings at 9:00 AM with registration, coffee, and snacks, followed by the business meeting at 10:00 AM. Our Paul Harris Recognition & Awards Presentation Luncheon will be at noon. Twelve afternoon breakout sessions will be presented in four parallel tracks from 2:00 - 5:00 PM. Fellowship, cocktails and hors d'oeuvres will be at 5:00 PM, followed by a festive dinner with keynote speaker Evan Burrell.

Rotary Brand Center Webinar

Join us on Wednesday, March 29th, at 6:00 PM for an informative Public Image Committee webinar on the use of the Rotary Brand Center. The Brand Center is available to all Rotary Clubs and all Rotarians and is your source for graphic materials that comply with the Rotary brand guidelines.

We will cover the following points in this webinar:

  • How to access the Rotary Brand Center
  • How to create customized Rotary Club logos for your club
  • How to create customized People of Action graphics for your club
  • How to access the image library at the Brand Center and what you can expect to find there

A brand is more than just a logo, but a logo is a big part of our visual identity. When the public sees it throughout their community, they begin to think of Rotary members as people of action. Using the same visual elements unites Rotary, Rotaract, and Interact and allows us, as a diverse global organization, to tell our story with one voice.

We will conclude with a Q&A session, where you can ask the Public Image committee anything!

Rotary District 7930 is actively searching for qualified high school sophomore, junior and senior candidates to attend this year’s Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA) Conference, which will be held from May 12-14 at the Camp Rotary in Boxford, MA.  The Annual RYLA Conference offers participants an opportunity to live, work and interact together in an atmosphere of cooperation and growth.  The program is designed to challenge participants to utilize and improve their skills and accept the responsibilities of leadership.  The entire cost of the program, aside from a $25 application fee provided by applicants, will be covered by the Rotary Club in your area.
 
Participants will be selected who have exhibited leadership abilities and who are currently in their sophomore, junior and senior years of high school. RYLA is now contacting high school Interact clubs, Rotary clubs, guidance counselors, youth organizations and other sources for nominations of conference participants.
 
Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA) is an intensive leadership experience organized by Rotary clubs and districts where students develop their skills as a leader while having fun and making connections.
 
Here’s what students experience at RYLA… 
  • Explore and practice new concepts of leadership and citizenship
  • Discover creative approaches for resolving family, social and professional conflicts
  • Experience the joy and the value of learning teamwork to get an advantage for the future
  • Challenge participants to exhibit “Service Above Self” in their communities and lives

World Water Day

Water is something we all need, and it’s essential for people to survive. But about 770 million people around the globe don’t have access to safe, clean water. That’s 1 person in every 10. Today, on World Water Day, we want to raise awareness about that and raise funds for projects to change it.

You can help The Rotary Foundation support member-led projects and activities that give people access to clean water, sanitation, and hygiene education and promote healthy societies.


What impact can your gift have? Donors like you have supported these sustainable, life-changing projects around the world:
  • Improving access to safely managed water in the Navajo Nation
  • Installing and expanding access to water and sanitation in Tanzania
  • Distributing clay water filters to communities in Brazil
  • Supplying clean water to 3,000 people in Papua New Guine
  • Installing water filtration systems for schools in Lebanon

Marblehead Interact 22-23 Recap

As Senior Project approaches and the Marblehead High School Interact Club readies their election to bring in new leadership for the coming year, we are very proud to reflect on our accomplishments and share them with you.
 
Our club, connecting our local Rotary International Clubs to the high school level, known as Interact, has been active for about 20 years. We work annually to bring a sense of global and local needs to light and do our best to learn about and assist in any way that we can.
 
This year, we have given almost $1,000 to Kiva Loans. Kiva is a micro loan application that we have been using for close to 10 years and we give small loans to the collaborative efforts to fund the needs of small communities around the world. We have also donated 2 Shelter Boxes, which are just as they sound, a large box which is deployed to disaster areas, with enough supplies to shelter and supply a family for an indefinite amount of time. To date, Shelter Box has helped over 37,000 people just in the Ukraine War alone.

Rotary Theme Pins 2007-08 until 2021-22

Over 24 years of being a Rotarian, I have been given (sometimes in multiples) Rotary theme pins from 2007-08 through 2021-22 with only a couple of years missing. I just kept adding them to a long ribbon as each year passed and another theme was introduced. 
 
Now I’m 73 and trying to simplify my life a bit by happily letting go of things I don’t use, no longer want, and don’t want to pass along to our kids...
