Veterans Celebrated at Foundation Event

On November 12, 2025, Rotarians from across District 7930 gather to honor military veterans at the PDG Bob Wood Memorial Heroes Celebration, held at the Andover Country Club. The event recognized and celebrated veterans from throughout the district for their service and dedication to their country. Each Hero designated was presented with a Paul Harris Fellow recognition in appreciation for their service to our country.

It was a wonderful turnout to acknowledge and support our Heroes, and we were particularly inspired by the powerful speeches by our guests of honor BG Jack Hammond and Rotary International Director Chris Etienne with the touching story of Micaila Britto, the presence of her Service Dog, Rabbit. We were privileged to have special guests from Rotary International Celeste Herbert and Mary Shackleton and PDG Bob Wood’s widow Susan Wood.

The evening’s featured speaker was Retired Brigadier General Jack Hammond, Executive Director of Home Base. Home Base is a national nonprofit dedicated to healing the invisible wounds of war for Veterans of all eras, Service Members, Military Families and Families of the Fallen through world-class, direct clinical care, wellness, education and research, all at no cost to them, regardless of era of service, discharge status or geographical location.

Mid Year Leadership Meeting: Jan. 22

Event: District 7930 Mid Year Leadership Seminar

When: Thursday, January 22, 2026, 5:30 pm - 9:00 PM

Where: Four Points by Sheraton, 1 Audubon Road, Wakefield, MA 01880

Who should attend:

· Current Presidents (2025-2026)

· Presidents Elect (2026-2027)

· Presidents Nominee (2027-2028) and beyond if elected

· Assistant Governors.

Your chance to reflect, refocus, and recharge. This will give current Club Presidents time to speak with DG Pooja and her team on what is going on in your club and the District.

All come together to exchange ideas, address challenges, and celebrate our progress halfway through the Rotary year. The Mid Year event will highlight successes and areas for improvement, ensuring we stay on track with our plans to create a lasting impact.

To those clubs who have Presidents-Elect listed in Club Runner, thank you. Please update your Club’s President Elect information on ClubRunner so that the PEs get all the notifications of the leadership meetings in a timely manner.

Join the PolioPlus Society Challenge

More than a dozen districts have joined together during the 2025-26 Rotary year to increase membership in the PolioPlus Society (PPS), and ultimately eradicate Polio, once and for all!

You can help by setting up your annual or monthly recurring Polio donation today.

The district with the greatest percentage increase of PPS members by June 2026 will win a fancy banner and bragging rights! Better yet we will all know we did our part in saving the lives of children all over the world!

Each club is asked to plan an activity to raise funds for Polio sometime by March. The top 3 clubs in PolioPlus donations now are: 1. Marblehead; 2. Lexington; 3. Andover.

PI Health Check

As we have ticked off the first few months of the Rotary year, it is an opportune time for clubs to conduct a Public Image health check.

A strong and vibrant Public Image is one of 2 proven key tactics for successful and growing clubs -- the other is a large number of service projects. Effective Public Image helps expand your reach and artfully tell compelling stories that demonstrate Rotarians as people of action. The Public Image Committee’s role is to help clubs to have a robust media and social media strategy, an up-to-date website and an engaging online presence in their local communities.

We suggest all clubs engage on social media to boost your Public Image. Social media (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, etc.) provides free opportunities to get your stories out there. The various platforms can provide a direct way to push your news to the public. Here are some tips to think about.

Wakefield Honors Those Who Served

What a wonderful week of celebrations as the Wakefield Rotary Club attended multiple celebrations of our nation's heroes. On Veterans Day, Rotarians Jay Curley (US Army, ret.), Barbara Worley, Joie Gerrish and Jim Fitzgerald attended the town's Veterans Day event and gave tribute to local heroes.

The following day, members of the club attended the retirement party for Rotarian Fire Chief Michael Sullivan. The third generation fire professional, Michael retired with over 41 years of service to the town.

Later that week, Barbara, President-Elect Paul Adams, Wendy Maguire, Jay Curley and his wife Annette, and Frank Fiorentino (US Army, ret.) and his wife Mary attended the District's Bob Wood Memorial Heroes' Celebration. The club mominated Wakefield Veteran Servies Director David A. Mangan (US Air Force, ret.) to be recognized.

It was truly a wonderful week of celebrating those who served.

Marblehead Harbor Changes Meeting Time

Marblehead Harbor Rotary has officially changed our meeting day from TUESDAY to THURSDAY mornings, from 7:15 to 8:30 am

should any of you want to join us! The meeting location is still at Masonic Hall, 62 Pleasant Street, Marblehead, MA 01945.

Has your club recently hosted an event or project or are you planning something in the near future that you would like to share with your fellow District 7930 Rotarians?

The weekly eBulletin depends on the content provided by clubs, so please submit your stories and we will publish them on the district website and in the next eBulletin. Stories that showcase your club or event should be submitted via the website portal at this link. Your club's successes and events can give inspiration to other Rotarians.

The deadline for submitting items for the weekly District 7930 eBulletin is Friday morning in order to be included in the following Monday's edition. If the eBulletin being prepared is getting to be too long and the story submitted is not time-sensitive, we may choose to delay including it until the following week.
