Doing Good in the World Webinar
Rotary's PolioPlus Legacy: Leading the Way in Global Health Progress
27 March 2025 | 10:00 Chicago time (UTC-5)
Live on Zoom

Rotary’s PolioPlus program is one of our longest-term and most significant humanitarian efforts. Working with our partners, we’ve reduced worldwide polio cases by 99.9% since 1988. The networks and tools we’ve built along the way exemplify the “plus” in PolioPlus, often serving as the epidemic response system in dozens of countries during health emergencies. The panelists will discuss the role of PolioPlus infrastructure in public health and how the success of this initiative guides efforts to address other urgent health issues.

Register today! Participation in the live session is limited and available to the first 1,000 registrants. A recording will be available for those who are unable to attend live.  Register here today.
Creative Ways to Support Annual Fund SHARE
Looking for creative ways your club can raise funds for the Annual Fund SHARE?  Look no further!

Circles of Gold:  create Circles of Gold in your club by asking 5 members to join each circle.  Each person in the circle agrees to donate $200 per year to the Annual Fund SHARE.  Either have the Rotarian use rotary direct to contribute or collect a check from them each year by the end of April.  If you collect a check, make sure to send to RI in the Rotarian’s name so they receive credit for their contribution.  The Circle of Gold then combines their points which would equal 1000 and can honor a member of their circle with a Paul Harris recognition or another person.  Some Circles are all women, others a mixed group.  Make it fun!  And have the club appoint a team leader to help recruit should a member drop out and to help with PH recognition.

RYLA Applications Now Open
Applications for this year's RYLA are officially live and can be found hereDownload the flyer here.

RYLA 2025 will be May 16th-18th at Camp Rotary in Boxford, MA. We are so excited to connect with this year's rising leaders and have a committed group of returning students to help lead the weekend.

As you begin to think about who you can invite to apply for this life-changing experience, remember that the impact of RYLA extends far beyond the weekend itself. It's an opportunity for young leaders to grow, connect, and inspire one another, and we can't wait to see who will join us this year!

We have volunteers eager to speak about RYLA at your Rotary and Interact Clubs. It's a great way to spread the word and encourage more students to take advantage of this opportunity. Please feel free to reach out to Christina at Christina@PartnerWithChoice.com or call 978.270.6706 to arrange a presentation.

Thank you for your ongoing support in the future of these young leaders. Together, we are making a difference!

Sponsor an American flag to honor those who have made a difference in their lives, including military members, first responders, parents, teachers, coaches, mentors and community leaders.  A $75 donation sponsors a flag and supports Woburn Rotary's service projects.

You may sponsor as many heroes as you want, and a flag with the name of your heroes will be flown at Ferullo Field from mid-April to mid-May 2025.

Wakefield Welcomes New Member
The Wakefield Rotary Club is pleased to announce its newest member, Carla Dale. Dale was recently installed into the club by Wakefield Rotary Past President Amy Luckiewicz and her sponsor, Past President Barbara Worley.

Dale was invited to visit the club by her sponsor in January, "Initially, I wanted to learn more about the club and I was invited to the weekly luncheons," she explained. "I quickly realized it was a fun way to meet people and to join others in an organized volunteer effort."

New members are encouraged to identify areas of service that are of interest to them. Dale noted that she is excited to participate in food drives, maternal health and wellness projects, basic education and literacy and senior programs.

"Carla is a great addition to the club," said Club President Wendy Maguire. "We know she has a particular interest in assisting local adult programs for special needs adults. We encourage her to pursue that, with us, and look forward to diving into this new area of service."

Dale is a retired pharmacist. She grew up in Revere and now resides in Wakefield and has four children, Brittany, Austin, Dylan and Logan.

He added that Rotary is “grateful to our friends and neighbors in Ipswich and Rowley who supported and contributed to this vital effort.
